We have in-place upgrade of AEM from 6.4 to 6.5 and in one of the instance we are observing issue with generic list with more than 8 element doesn't load.

No, We had to downgrade it. it seems there were NPE related ticket which would hopefully fix it, but not sure when the team is planning to fix it.

but we have almost 30 generic lists that are impacted and it started breaking after installing sp10 in aem 6.5. earlier it seemed to work fine. We now 30 lists are getting impacted and we are not able to use them, so any suggestions from your end or do we have to shift from generic lists to something else??

This issue has been fixed in the release 5.3.4 - 2022-08-22. Fixed https://github.com/Adobe-Consulting-Services/acs-aem-commons/issues/2617 - Fixed issue with NPE in Generic Lists
