[Request] Custom FTL backgrounds #1858

What do you think is missing or what do you think can be done better I am hoping to make the FTL animated screen resemble the below image. If this is doable in a texture pack can you please let me know? Otherwise, consider adding a customisation?

I'm afraid that with it's current implementation, there's no way to texture the animation since it's hardcoded to generate a series of squares, which is how MC renders stars. I think it'd be possible to implement with a relatively low amount of effort, but it's probably not gonna happen until the 1.16 update of the mod.

Thanks for putting on the board @zmaster587 ... I'll backport whatever you come up with .... Im sure I can manage that, its just a little over my head understanding how to modify it from scratch :)
