Fields will not appear on the new BETA Single Product of Woocommerce #877

Woocommerce has given the oportunity with the latest updates to use the new Product editor, which is Gutenberg related if I am not mistaken.

If you have any custom fields that are for woocommerce products as the title says, will not be shown there.

What you have to do is simple, go to Woocommerce - settings - advanced - enable new product editor.

On the ACF give a demo field and relate it to product.

Hey @FunkyCss, cheers for the report!

We'll take a look at this and try and fix it our side, but in the meantime please also file a bug with WooCommerce, as they may be able to add legacy metabox support for other plugins which use the metabox tied to a product their side.

Hey Guys,

Any update on this issue?

lgladdy commented 7 months ago

Hey @Assafsc,

ACF has historically supported Woo by them using standard WordPress features like post types. Unfortunately, now they've opted to build a new custom system, it's not possible for the existing ACF integrations to work.

There's no easy way for ACF to bring support to both the new order screens, or the new beta product editing screens because they're fully custom React experiences that do not support WordPress native features.

We're still assessing the best way forward here, and will have more information soon.

@lgladdy Hi there, I am not sure what this means, but is not an exodus if you dont find a way to go with Woocommerce?

This plugin is the leader of wordpress and makes me wonder how is possible ACF not to going to support that.

Looks like many extenions do that, and makes me curious if is by choice....

@FunkyCss we haven't said we won't support it. However, it is currently in beta and you don't have to use it if you require custom fields for your products. We are assessing the work required and will have to prioritise it along with our existing roadmap of ACF features and improvements. I recommend you posting on https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/feedback/ so we can try and understand other ACF users using WooCommerce.

@polevaultweb Hi there, thanks for letting us know, I admire the latest updates and work ACF has done, so I believe there will be nice things to come, and thanks for that.
