It has no effect in debian. Please how should I solve the problem

Please provide information otherwise I can't help you.

First, make sure you are using the correct trigger:

Note: The default behavior is triggered by window FULLSCREEN, not the normal maximize. Window fullscreen can be enabled by right clicking on the window decoration -> More Actions -> Fullscreen.

With that out of the way, please provide the following if the issue persists:

What were the exact steps you performed and the actual/expected result?
What version of kwin and kwin-maximize-to-new-desktop were you using?
Any relevant log entries in kwin's output? You can get this by running kwin in the foreground
```
kwin_x11 --replace
```

Is that the full log? The script isn't loaded at all, otherwise, there'll be relevant entries in the log similar to the following

js: KWinMax2NewVirtualDesktop: Handler installed

Please check it is correctly installed and actually enabled in the system settings, then rerun kwin_x11 --replace and try to maximize some window and see if there's anything starting with js: KWinMax2NewVirtualDesktop: in the output.
