Make Caliper work for Windows #121

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Calling VirtualMachine.hostVm() static function cause throwing an exception
on Windows 7. And tests are failing too.

Function hostVm() is not OS independed, because on Windows Java executable file
name is "java.exe", not like in code predicted file name "java".

In attachment you can see tiny patch file.

Hope this is helpfull.

I expect a dozen different things to break on Windows right now. :-( I am not
sure whether Windows support will be part of 1.0 or not.

At some point after we have finished deleting the old codebase, I'd be very
glad to see a patch that actually made everything work on Windows. That patch
would probably be a... superpatch of this one.

A bit of work has been done on addressing some of the Windows issues. Would
somebody on a windows machine mind giving it a try?

Just gave it a try and I ran in other issues. Can I do something to have them
hot-fixed?
