Thats odd, I'm not getting this behavior...
Which protocol are we talking about? I'm testing with MSN. Irc doesn't yet have
the
option for emoticons even enabled.
XMPP works for me as well. Can anyone else confirm this?

I can't get anything from terminal. No idea why this happens, I tried using
other themes/engines but the
problem remains

I've coded it so that if you remove focus from the window, it dissapears. are
you
doing anything, or have anything installed that would take focus away from that
little window as soon as you open it?

I Don't think i have anything like that, maybe it's just Xfwm, i'll try
enabling focus steal perevention to
see what happens

Not working even with focus steal prevention enabled.

I'm sorry xfwm?
I should try this for myself so i can actually troubleshoot and figure out what
is
happening.
I use gnome so I have only tested on that so far.

Maybe it's because of Xfce i have no idea, although i have a good computer i
prefer Xfce, it's much
faster, much nicer and hace some great features.

I'll install it and check it out (not to use it, but to debug any issues there
might
be with the popups)

Phil, it's definitely an XFCE problem, i made a clean install of ubuntu and
works
well with gnome, but the emoticon window still looks all stretch to the top and
bottom just like the screenshots i attached earlier. Is that supposed to be
that way
or is it supposed to be squared?
