What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Utilização de data provável (ano entre colchetes) está causando erro na 
referência (está incorporando o bibkey no início) e falha na citação.

Ex: 
@MISC{ROHDE,
  author = {Robert A. Rohde},
  title = {400 years of sunspot observations},
  howpublished = {Imagem digital},
  year = {[2012]},
  url = {http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/File:Sunspot_Numbers_png},
  urlaccessdate = {25 abr. 2013}
}

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

O resultado está incorporando o bibkey no início da referência:
ROHDE ROHDE, R. A. 400 years of sunspot observations. [2012]. Imagem digital. 
Disponível em: <http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/File:Sunspot Numbers 
png>. Acesso em: 25 abr. 2013.

Já na citação, não está produzindo efeito:

Apenas para anotar, os anos prováveis atendem à seção 8.6.2 da ABNT NBR 
6023:2002.

brunovani22, tente usar year = {\[2012\]} e nos avise do resultado.

Não funcionou, o bibtex foi gerado, mas o documento não, causou um erro em 
cascata.

brunovani22, então será preciso investigar. Deixarei a issue aberta como 
sugestão de implementação no abnTeX2. 

Como sugestão, sugiro investigar na documentação do bibtex como inserir 
colchetes (brackets). Sugestão é iniciar pela documentação do bibtex: 
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/biblio/bibtex/contrib/doc/

Lauro isto continua em pendência. Também não consegui fazer funcionar. Alias 
nao encontrei nenhuma referencia de como utilizar [] ate mesmo para um titulo, 
caso ncessário. Note que a norma recomenda sempre que for data provável 
colocar entre []. Acho que vale priorizar esta issue.

Particularmente vou entregar sem isso e contar que não reclamem.
