Could use it to show where (and which kind of) things are going on during the trip. They do make awesome maps and invented something like css for mapping styles. I have seen one of their lead devs give a talk at an Ignite Spatial event and I got the impression that they would probably support such a project.

I looked deeper into mapbox.com & tilemill today – and am super impressed! I'll definitely get in touch with them as @andi-g suggested.

Sorry for gatecrashing your thread! But I happen to be seeing some of the folk from MapBox tonight as I am attending a drinks thing they are putting on in London. I'll do what I can to spread the good word.
