Stickers #78

I can get us stickers for free

Print? Just the logo? Logo+homepage? ...? Size? Any specifications concerning material? How many? 1,000? 2,000?

Let me know :)

Material should be something durable, like vinyl or outdoor stickers. Size should be around 5*5cm. And print should just be the bare logo, that is Africa shape enclosed in curly braces.

Sounds good? I'll do the print file tomorrow.

Here’s a mockup of what I described before – the grey background would be white, like the die-cut stickers that Stickermule does. africahacktrip-sticker

The SVG and PNG files for that are at https://s3.owncloud.com/owncloud/public.php?service=files&t=50183a9ba946777660ab255d30e20505 (also including the original AfricaHackTrip logo source file).

What does everyone think? Also cc @xmartin @emimaj @langalex @skddc @anagromataf

(I’m not quite happy with it yet, especially regarding the whitespace on the bottom and the top, and the thickness of the outline should probably be smaller.)

I like it as it is, but I think inverted it could look even better.

What about the "original" logo with "AfricaHackTrip"? I like that.

i talked to the graphics guy: he prefers dxf files, as the plotter needs those. to save some of his time and considering that we get it all for free: could you please export as dxf?

and: they will try to make the outline as thin as possible. they couldn't exactly tell me HOW thin that will be, but most probably thinner than what it looks like now. i will have at least a first batch on friday, maybe all of them. if we give them the files by tomorrow.

material: vinyl with uv-protection. ("if it sticks on a paver for 30 years, it should stick on a laptop.")

size: 5x4 cm?

i also worked on the files a bit, and agree with basti: inverted looks better. tobias: i like it better without the "africahacktrip", but am a huge fan of democracy, so.. WHAT DOES THE REST THINK???

I also like the inverted one. About the text I’m not sure, but please let’s decide on just one great version.

I have spotty wifi right now (at a conference in the Czech Republic) and will have proper connection again on Wednesday.

emi's opinion: – size fits (e.g. perfect for a new Iphone) – inverted colors are great – would suggest to have a tiny, tiny headline 'africahacktrip' somewhere (for those who will find it after years on the desert and won't know what to google for)

i tried to put text or a barcode under the continent outline, between the brackets. all looks terrible, i think. because africa has such a unique and beautiful (but unfortunately not very square) form

text on the side: hmm.. very small (less than 1mm), i'm not sure the printer can do that. if it's just the tag, it might be ok. (@skddc: was the tag #AHT13?)

i just really love jan's design without any text. pleases my eyes :)

If we choose to put anything on there, I would also use the last one. That way you have something to search for, and it’s just the simple name. On the side it looks strange and the tag looks just weird.

So, black one with »AFRICAHACKTRIP« on the bottom like in @myamy’s image above – what do the others think?
