Temperature overshoot #26

When I set the temperature to 140°C the PCB ramps up to 225°C (even starting to smoke).

Is this intended?

I measured with NTC probe and IR-Thermometer.

I had this too - I've noticed that the temperature shown on the screen does not reflect the actual temperature, by quite a bit (ie; shows 60 deg on the screen when the board is 100). I didn't let it get up to 225 though, I stopped it when it hit 180. As a result I'm not comfortable with using this for anything.

Is there something in particular that we can start to look at?
