Conduct a comprehensive literature review to understand the current state and historical studies on soil health and Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM) in Ethiopia #89
As part of the initiative to harmonize the Decision Support Tool (DST) for fertilizer agroadvisory, one of the key activities involves conducting a meta-analysis and hyper-localization of Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM) practices. This effort aims to optimize site-specific fertilizer advisories. In this context, a manuscript titled "Vermicomposting and Other Valorization Strategies for Agricultural Waste Management: A Comprehensive Review on Harnessing Organic Fertilizers for Sustainable Crop Production and Soil Health Enhancement in Smallholder Farms" has been submitted to the Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management and is currently undergoing the peer-review process.
Furthermore, a technical report entitled "Fertilizer Replacement Value of Organic Fertilizers: Implications for Locally Relevant and Tailored Fertilizer Recommendations" has been authored by Gebrehana, G.Z.; Mesfin, T.; Ebrahim, M.; Abera, W.; Tamene, L.; Chernet, M. and published in 2024. This report offers vital insights into the potential of organic fertilizers as substitutes for conventional ones, thereby supporting more sustainable agricultural practices. The report is accessible on the CGSpace repository and can be viewed at the following link: [https://hdl.handle.net/10568/139367].
