Boundary and Guideline List

Content Quantity Boundaries:

• 80 items roughly. Can be crossed if the ideas are really good, but preferably shouldn't be crossed too much.
  • This does not include unlocks(misc, challanges, and characters) and or trinkets.
  • Trinkets should be somewhere at 20-30 MAX.
• 2 or 3 characters if we have interesting enough ideas for them.
• At least 1 new boss for most floors, at max 3 PER FLOOR. Chapters 1-4 have overall 12 possible levels so bear in mind. The AB alts will need more unique bosses to give them personality. Sheol and Cathedral should have roughly 3 bosses. The Agony Alts might benefit from having 1 pre-set boss each/2, but have these put up an amazing fight. This needs to be discussed.
• Roughly 3 or 4 new INTERESTING floors.
• FUCKLOADS of rooms. The one area where the cap is incredibly high.
• 3 to 5 (AT MAX, as to not go overboard) mechanics (obstcles/props) per floor (exclusive to it). Best to stick to the 3 or around it. Global Puzzle mechanics aren't included in this ofc.
• 80 to 100 new enemies. This doesn't have to meet these numbers, but it's best to not surpass them.

General Goals:

• Add exclusive content to fit the themes for each floor, giving them more personality.
  • This also includes Bosses, for every area except for Chest and Dark Room, thanks to the Optional Boss Rooms.
• Add a lot of rooms, and a good amount of new mechanics/obstacles/props for them.
• Add a few new floors, all with a good reason to exist.
  • Same goes for any new characters we may choose to introduce.
• Remember the agony rules, and to work by the design docs koala provides.
• Do quality control over all the content currently in, to finally get the crap out and fix what needs to be fixed.

Additionally, to make it sure quantity isn't over quality, and to make sure you won't end up using the boundaries as minimum, I will likely be shrinking them once a roadmap(phases of development) is planned out, after a discussion with Tez and the rest realizing what are our goals.

Boss wise, here's how many each floor needs:

Basement: None, beyond Sackcloth probably as Sackheads are native to the Basement.

Cellar: None, already has very strong personality.

Burning Basement: Already has The Mourning, no boss is needed but if there's a really unique idea it might be upped to 2.

Dank Depths, Flooded Caves and Scarred Womb: All of these get 2 bosses.

Catacombs, Necropolis, Utero: All of these get 1 boss each, potentially except for utero if we have good enough ideas.

Alts: 2 bosses each and a final boss, if its going by my idea.

Sheol/Cathedral: 3 each.

Additionally, if something is approved, imo, it can still be removed or replaced in the future once we're at later stages, based on boundaries, unless the content existing is high enough quality and the content which is in question is too, making an exception.
