README == Temporary Homepage

Hello everyone, this is an important document as it is the first thing that most users will see. Think of it as our current home page.

Since this is a cooperative, we need input from as many as possible to make this document what it should be. This should be the page that we link to people when they ask what we are and what we are working on.

Currently Included

Mission statement (not finalized). Name origins. Membership information. Road-map draft. Current potential member list. Social links.

Changes

What needs to be added, updated, removed? Please comment line by line or section and let's make this document what it needs to be!

This isn't pushed into master yet, but I think that the members information and members list part of this should just direct users to the membership directory (as seen here):

https://github.com/Agorex-io/Cooperative/tree/membership-list/membership

The readme of that folder should house all of the membership info

My opinion:

That roadmap is nowhere near a final product for public consumption, but more of a rough map of what we need to accomplish internally.

Public facing roadmap should be broken down into broader terms like: Create Coop, Finalize Smart Contract, Finalize Back End, Finish New UI, Launch Alpha, Launch Beta. Then, some detail on those specific parts. Maybe we have a separate roadmap for actual internal use. I think all of these items would confuse the average user.

You could probably pretty up the "Name" section with some markdown (italics, bold, etc.) Maybe we should cite our source for the Agora definition as well.

I also think we should remove the website URL until there is something actually there.

Firstly, thank you for putting this together. I think a readme is super important and I appreciate that you got the ball rolling!

I agree a little too early for detailed roadmap (and this reads more like a task list than a roadmap). We should be more broad and maybe use "milestones" instead. In broad terms I'd also like us chat to make sure we all have consensus on that too. For example, I'd very much like to see us get a beta up and running ASAP and get it into a maintainable state even if it isn't differentiated. I think having something working that users can use and contributors can immediately join and contribute to is critical. I'm happy to fund compute for the backend for a while myself and I think using github pages is a good solution in the near term (it actually adds trust and credibility IMHO).
