Hey guys!
Great job on this report. Here is some feedback and improvements which you guys can make:
Abstract: overall you’ve done a great job explaining what the objectives and intentions of the team is. However, this is a little on the longer end – target around 100-125 words. Also try to touch upon your hypothesis in this paragraph as well.
Lit review: after moving this up, your report flows a lot better. Good job! This section is well written and easy to follow. I would touch upon how each of these factors relate to your research. Additionally, the explanation of the floc blanket should mentioned in this section at least once as it is vital to your research. I think Hurst 2016 research may not be applicable to your research as you want to focus on lit review surrounding tests regarding the plate settlers or theories showing why angles could influence the stability. Same thing with Garlands as that is about the flocculation, not sedimentation. These make this section a little dense unnecessarily.
Introduction: well done in this section. It is easy to follow and isn’t too complex. Do touch upon your hypothesis in terms of angles if you have one.
Methods: good job here too. Bring up the CAD drawing and explain the design fist before showing it implemented. Explain the reasoning behind the design more and how you approached solving it – ie instead of showing this is what we designed, say how we would go about designing it and show what you came up with finally. Explain how the design you created had some problems with the 3d printing – this is still part of your methods.
Results: as you have not done any experiments, take this report as a plan of your methods was designing a system to run experiments and your results were the design you created and explore the disadvantages/advantages of your designs. This can be part of your analysis and your conclusions too.
Future work: good job laying out what needs to be done in the future for future semesters.
Overall great job with this report! Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
