Consider using chains. Chains are used as water spouts and they succeeded in keeping the water on the chain. Try it with very fine chains perhaps with a range of link dimensions. It should be possible to get chains that are not coated with lubricant!
Notes from 9/28 meeting with Monroe about testing:
Residence time on a string, how to measure? -Dye at the top, watch how long it takes to get to the bottom -Collecting the water on the string -Weigh suspended string without water, then pump water on it (probably most accurate)
Want more water on the strings to allow for more treatment
Future tests/info to gather/things to calculate: -Distance between strings, webbing -How many strings do we need to treat a certain amount of water? (1L/s?) -How long does the water need to be on a string to get treated?
Spreading with bars? Sloped sides of basin instead of purely vertical? Then pull strings back under the bars
