Determine velocities of water on various strings and how much water each strand is able to hold #26

its not working, the water doesn't stay on the string when we try to drip it at the top with a pump. Plastic string seems hydrophobic?

We tried setting up the strings in the old configuration with the overflowing basin, water still doesn't seem to follow the strings.

Metal wire seems to work better, but not great. The twisted cable seems to work the best, but it still doesn't work very well, and its the most expensive.

We need to ask some questions: -do hydrophilic plastics exist? -would biofilm grow on a hydrophobic string and then water would 'stick' better? -how do we make the strings hold the water?

thoughts on distribution: -potentially have a tilted wall of the basin for the water to slide down and then have the strings come off of there.
