Float Method 2 - Hole through slider pipe #11

Drill hole through top of slider pipe and put float through that hole. -will this cause top of slider pipe to be weak/unstable? Too weak to support float if any forces are exerted on it by tee/water/etc.? -will it be too hard to make circular cuts perfectly straight across pipe?

We will go with Float method 3.
