Monroe meeting: Filters, El PODA, Las Moras #6

Filter questions for Monroe, pre-Nicaragua trip with Bayron (Thursday, August 23rd)

  1. Why is this a part of the design, in which the backwash flow rate is less than the filter flow rate? This seems like it could cause problems in the design calculations, as the design expects less flow rate than may actually occur image
  2. Santiago is looking at the Las Moras design. In addition to switching out the OStaRS for 2 EStaRS, he wants to move the entrance tank from outside the flocculator to inside the flocculator. This is because the Las Moras design was made in ~2014, and at that time the Entrance Tanks were not designed to be in flocculators.
  3. Does the pressure in the filter affect anything?
  4. Should I work on the Grand Scaling powerpoint or the 6-8 slide powerpoint for ACR?
