You are writing that you need mesh, so you will need to use the "with mesh" version

Yes but it is wired, not wireless. Does enabling fast roaming count as mesh?
Fast roaming is no mesh. And it doesn't matter if it is wireless or wired. You can setup a mesh in both cases. Please read https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/mesh/80211s

Thank you. It seems like mesh is mostly used without Ethernet connections between the routers while fast roaming is. Just weird that Xiaomi calls it mesh also when they are all connected via cable.
My goal is to have one wifi network for my clients to connect to and that it will work on the entire house as good as possible (it's a 3 story apartment with neighbors.) All of my Xiaomi ax6s are connected via cables so I guess I don't need mesh (based on what you sent).. Thanks!
doubt solved?
Hi, I have all openwrt: ax6s as main router, another ax6s as dumb AP and another ax6 as dumb AP. Which version should I choose for the ax6? They are all broadcasting the same SSID with fast roaming enabled. (Used the mesh feature with the stock Xiaomi firmware before..)
