FeatureRequest: Allow to use expand-Query-Parameter #6

Hi,

i'd like to ask if it would be difficult to implement a way to allow expanding ($expand) of things for each location?I figured out, that this is intentionally disabled by stripping any query parameter in the code. I tried to modify the plugin, by removing the lines in the provider_frost.py constructor, that strips the query parameter, but when i load the plugin in QGIS, the parameter are still stripped.

My intention is to be able to load data from the things attached to the location, so that i can use this data for queries and filtering in QGIS.

Dear Michael, apologize for the delay of my reply and thanks a lot for you message. Indeed, we are already going in the direction you suggested: Faunaliahttps://www.faunalia.eu/en (Matteo Ghetta, here CCed) with DedaNexthttps://www.dedanext.it/ (me and my colleague Luca) and other QGIS main developers are working on a future version of SensorThings functionality in QGIS, based on this QEPhttps://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Enhancement-Proposals/issues/257, in the framework of a BRGMhttps://www.brgm.fr/en project. The idea is to have basic functionalities for accessing SensorThings endpoints (with $expand) already embedded in the core of QGIS, likewise other OGC standard protocols.

I guess in the upcoming months we will have the opportunity to test a draft version of that, to test before release.

I leave the floor to Matteo for any further details on that.
