I'm interested in doing the code jam, and I have a few questions regarding the rules. What programming language do we use? When is it due? Do some feeds fluctuate in update frequency (i.e., the frequency at which they update is not constant)?

What programming language do we use?

Any language! Has to be compilable / runnable on an ubuntu 14.04 box though..

When is it due?

11/9 for Caltech (servers will be kept running indefinitely though)

Do some feeds fluctuate in update frequency (i.e., the frequency at which they update is not constant)?

Yes- the feed data is culled from real data, so some feeds update often, some update rarely, some only on certain days of the week, etc
