The mass-downloading of tiles is killing the infrastructure of Openstreetmap.
As the project is running on donations it's not possible to provide the
infrastructure for mass-downloading.
Please replace the download URL in openStreetMaps.py to point it to one of the
services that happily offer OSM tiles for download.
I suggest to switch to the Mapquest servers. Instructions listed here:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/MapQuest#Tile_URLs
Mainly it's replacing the URL to look like this:
http://otile1.mqcdn.com/tiles/1.0.0/osm/8/126/87.png
Additional benefit for your users is the increased download speed.
