Spotify problem most likely has something to do with that I'm using a VPN.
spotifyd
seems to be working mostly great though. Giving up on spotify-tui
at the moment since I can just use the spotify mobile app to select songs on.
Labeling this as wontfix and closing. I'm fine with using spotifyd
at the moment but I hope spotify eventually fix their broken app.
Since last time there have been some updates to the spotify
client and I'm also using the new official protonvpn-cli
app.
I tried launching spotify
and I am no longer experiencing any of the above issues.
I don't know which application actually caused the issue but it seems to be fixed now.
For some reason unbeknownst to me the Spotify client can't connect to their servers and therefore I can't stream music. I can still login but can't do anything beyond that. I tried
spotify-tui
withspotifyd
and could successfully connect and stream music. However this caused some other problems.Spotify asked me to reset my password because they detected suspicious activity. This might be a one time thing but if it happens again this is not a viable solution.
spotify-tui
stores it's config files in~/.config/spotify-tui
. Since i store my config files in~/etc
instead of in~/.config
this is unnecessary clutter.I am not yet sold on
spotify-tui
and could use something else if find something to replace it. That is if Spotify doesn't ask me to reset my password again.
