Fatal Python error: (pygame parachute) Segmentation Fault #10

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 and tried tut1 and got this error. I'm using
Python 2.6 as opposed to 2.5 but I can't imagine why this would cause an
error. Ideas?

Thanks!

Are you running from the svn version, or the last release?
Python 2.6 has not been tested, but I know there are some differences in how
you have
to do things over Python 2.5, and I know there were some issues with Pygame.
Also, we are using the last stable release of pygame (1.8.1) not anything
newer, so
that could also be it.

Yes I'm using pygame 1.8.1. I guess there's a fundamental difference with 2.6,
or it
might be something in my end. Let me know if you guys find a cure-all
solution.

Thanks!

I think this is more of a duplicate issue 4. As RB suggested please try an svn
check
out of the newest revision r429. I'm running python2.6 on Ubuntu 9.04 as well
and
had to fix this issue.
