Swedish dictionary stopped working after Android upgrade on Nexus One #33

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. On Google Nexus One, have installed Scandinavian Keyboard and Swedish
dictionary
2. Keyboard worked and continues to work, but after the general Android
system update I no longer see the Swedish dictionary.
3. Have uninstalled and reinstalled. The keyboard still works fine but I
don't see the dictionary.
4. Under Language and Keyboard Settings I have selected: Scandinavian
Keyboard and under Scandinavian Keyboard Settings I have selected Choose
Dictionary and Dictionary Language Swedish.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

If I now write an email i Gmal and start Sve I still get the default
English wordlist Sven, avenue, average etc rather than Sverige.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I am using the standard Android OS on Google Nexus One. And this was
working perfectly before.

Please provide any additional information below.

It seems to be related to the updated version of Android.

Strage. I tried to install the swedish dictionary on an updated Nexus One (I
assume
you're talking about the multitouch update), and it worked as it should.

You do have the Scandinavian keyboard selected and use that? That's to say, you
do
see ä, ö and å as separate buttons? Longpress the text field and select
Input Method
to select keyboard. Scandinavian keyboard should be selected.

If you have the keyboard selected, and still is experiencing this problem, I'm
not
sure what's the problem. I can then make a debug version of the keyboard that
you
can test, so I can find the problem.

I fiddled around with the settings, turning on and off dictionary suggestions
etc.
and suddenly it started working for me! (Don't know exactly what I did, but now
I get
Swedish dictionary lookups.

I am having the same problem, it was not solved by turning on and off
suggestions.
I can see and use åäö but only the words I added manually are suggested.

I have the same issue after upgrading to froyo. My danish dictionary is
completely ignored. My phone is a HTC Desire. My friend who has the same phone
confirms the problem.

hmmm. I found out I was really using version 1.4.3. The weird thing is that the
app did not show up in the market as updated with the option to upgrade to
1.4.4. Now that I have done that manually, it works perfectly again. Thank you!

The dictionaries didn't work in version 1.4.3 on Froyo. This is fixed in
version 1.4.4. Does anyone still have this issue in 1.4.4?

Where do you download 1.4.4? I only see 1.4.3.

I'm really sorry, but I forgot to upload version 1.4.4 here. I released it to
Market a while ago, and uploaded it here now.
If you have the opportunity, I recommend installing it from Market, as you will
get notifications when a new version is available.

Please report if you still have this problem.

Hi.

I just got the new Samsung Google Nexus S, and when I try to change to
Norwegian keyboard layout, I get "Sorry! The application Scandinavian keyboard
(process com.android.inputmethod.norwegian) has stopped unexpectedly. Please
try again.

This continue to come all the time, until I turn of Scandinavian Keyboard.
I have version 1.4.4 of Scandiavian Keyboard
