app!
its super good.

Well. A paid app and Scandinavian customers doesn't sound very smart.
Unfortunately.

i know i know, but seriously this app is a requirement for most nordics. imagine
getting only the lowest price on market for this app, how much that would
generate
for the continued development. Also paid apps in scandinavia using english sim
and
wifi at home... bought cheap on ebay uk.

Let me know if you need a tester for dk keyboard?

Sadly, I can confirm this bug.

I agree the importance of the app for all Nordic users. I should have donated
earlier
but I did it now and encourage all to do the same.

Made my 4USD donation as a motivation, it's not much, but I hope others do the
same :)

Doesn't work for me. If I uninstall dictionary it works randomly, but not
always.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Same here, uninstall/reinstall doesnt help but
with removing dic works for a couple of strokes.
I'm using Nexus One.

Well, this was a downside!
Hope for an upgrade soon, so I can use norwegian wovels again!

This seems to work (it is without dict):

(I wonder who made it though?)

You're correct that it's the dictionary that doesn't work. The dictionary is
read by
a native library that won't load in Froyo. Unfortunately, I don't know much
about
native libraries, so I haven't managed to fix it yet.

I found out that disabling the dictionary fixed the force closing, so I made
the
version that johan.frick links to, and sent it to another person I was in
discussion
with. Sorry I forgot to upload it here.

I'm currently making a version that only disables the dictionary when using
Froyo,
so I will release an update in the Market tonight. That version should work
fine,
except that the dictionaries don't work. The user dictionary still works
though. You
will be able to upgrade to this version from both the current version in
Market, and
the version johan.frick links to.

I will of course continue trying to fix the dictionary. When the source code
for
Froyo is released, it should be easier.

Thanks for all the donations.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Thanks, that works fine!

I'm of course still waiting for the fix, need the
dictionary quite much to speed the typing :) And
I'll keep donating.

Use the swedish by Makus Kilås. There you've got æøå

The one by Makus Kilås has quite a bad rating, I wouldn't recommend it.

Tried it.
It's laggy, low resolution and has some really weird text jumping bugs.

I have now released a version to Market that disables the dictionary on Froyo.
This
fixes the force close issue, so you can at least use the keyboard. I will keep
working on fixing the dictionary.

Nice work Trygve :)

However, i was using the mic on the keyboard, is it possible to get it back when
using your keyboard?

Could you try and rebuild the dictionary library with the newest ndk, and load
that
into it.
I got some problems trying.

Original comment by dunston_...@hackthedot.dk on 26 May 2010 at 10:32

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I have tried it, however, it has a lot of dependencies on system classes and
libraries so it won't compile. I haven't been able to resolve the dependencies
yet.

The library that's in use now is compiled by compiling the Android source, and
not
the NDK, so when the source for Froyo is released, I will try to compile with
that.

Hopefully the fix is close now that the source is dropped...

Hej Trygve!
Do you have any estimated deliverytime of the dictionary now that the source is
released?
thanx for a great app!

Seems the project is dead - any one else who can compile the source against the
android source ?

There is a project named "Any softkeyboard" - use that until its fixed :)

Original comment by dunston_...@hackthedot.dk on 6 Jul 2010 at 9:37

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The project is not dead. The dev just went on a vacation. He plan to do a big
update of the source though it seems, bringing in the new features from the 2.2
keyboard for supported devices. Even if it might take some time, the project
certainly isn't dead. :)

Sorry for being away such a long time, but first I had exams, and then
vacation, so I didn't have time to work on this. I have just started now, and I
will make a working version with the new features from the Froyo keyboard.
Don't know how long time it will take, but hopefully within the next week, or
at least in two weeks time.

Original comment by trygv...@gmail.com on 9 Jul 2010 at 8:09

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I'm going to port the features from the Froyo keyboard to Froyo users, but I
still want to have the keyboard compatible with Android 1.5 and 1.6, and it
seems that will be a bit more work than I thought. So it may take a while
before I'm finished with this.

Fortunately I found out it's really easy to fix the issue with the dictionary
in Froyo now that the source is released. So I will release a fix for that
today, and then it might take a while before next update, which will be based
on Froyo keyboard (I'm going away on vacation again in 2 weeks, so if I'm not
finished then, it will take over a month. Sorry about that, but that's how it
is in vacation time, with only one developer.)

Sounds great trygveaa! I know how it is being the only developer and don't
worry, take your time. Hope you have a great and relaxing vacation and thanks
for a great job with the app!
