Support for compound words using dictionary

I don't know how it is in the other scandinavian countries, but in Denmark we 
use "compound words" (don't know the exact term - the concept isn't widely used 
in the english language) all the times.

Say, writing the word "mail box" would be written "mailbox", in one word. 
(maybe not the best example, but hey!)

However, many of these words does not "exist" in a dictionary, since "any 
combination" is allowed. (do you still follow?!)

So, when typing compound words, I always have to enter the "second" word 
without dictionary assistance. And that's a shame.

Hence, my suggestion is as follows:

1) Positioning the cursor manually after (or before) another word and start 
typing should begin using the dictionary _for the newly entered word only_.

And/or:

2) Having written "word one" of the compound word, and pressing the word in the 
"dictionary suggestion line" should trigger that I can now continue writing 
"word two" with assistance from the dictionary.

Same goes for the German language.
Example: 'Haustür' means front door and 'Schlüssel' means key. So 
'Haustürschlüssel' means the key to the front door. If I want to swipe this 
compound word with Google Keyboard, I have to swipe both words separately, then 
use the cursor to manually go back behind the 'S' of 'Schlüssel' delete it and 
the space before and type a 's' and again manually place the cursor at the end 
of the new compound word. This is not at all user friendly!

This issue was posted five years ago, but is apparently still not fixed. When 
using Google Keyboard with auto correct, I have to edit every other sentence 
manually which can be a bit frustrating to say the least.

In my case, I run into the issue using the Norwegian keyboard, and this can 
lead to some awkward sentences. If I were to write "pineapple rings" in 
Norwegian, it would translate to "ananasringer", but Google Keyboard insists on 
changing it to "ananas ringer" using two words instead of one. The latter would 
literally translate back to "pineapple is calling", giving the sentence an 
entirely different meaning. 

Many Norwegian phrases rely on this seemingly subtle, but extremely important 
difference. Giving the influence of the English language on modern Norwegian, 
several people already struggle when using compound words. We want to preserve 
the Germanic languages, and (possibly exaggerating) this bug might just work 
against that.
