As someone with an AMOLED screen, I like the appearance of apps with a pure dark background. In fact, many apps with theme options provide that option even when Material You doesn’t support it natively. However, Gramophone is not one of them.
Not only does an AMOLED theme save energy on an AMOLED phone because pure black pixels physically turn off, but it makes for an effect that the UI elements are floating in front of nothing! The Apple Watch operates on this holographic design language to make the screen seem bigger and seamless.
Describe the solution you'd like
I’d like Gramophone to add a toggle in the themes menu where, if enabled, will force the background to #FFFFFF in light mode, #000000 in dark mode.
