Here, in this issue, share the ideas, knowledge as well as resources. Knowledge may be any tech or non-tech.

Summary

After going through the article which was provided by @shanimridul I have concluded it in this:

Packaging material

possible packaging materials are glass, metals (aluminum, foils and laminates, tinplate, and tin-free steel), paper and paperboards, and plastics.

Glass

    Advantges
  1. odorless and chemically inert with virtually all food products
  2. impermeable to gases and vapors
  3. withstand high processing temperatures
  4. glass color can protect light-sensitive contents
  5. Disadvantages
  6. heavy weight
  7. transportation costs
  8. brittleness
  9. susceptibility to breakage from internal pressure, impact, or thermal shock

Metal

    Advantages
  1. excellent physical protection and barrier properties
  2. formability and decorative potential
  3. recyclability
  4. most predominantly used in packaging are aluminum and steel.

  5. Aluminum : lightweight, highly resistant to most forms of corrosion, barrier to the effects of air, temperature, moisture, microorganisms and chemical attack, flexibility.

Plastics

    Advantages
  1. Fluid and moldable, plastics can be made into sheets, shapes, and structures, offering considerable design flexibility
  2. chemically resistant, plastics are inexpensive and lightweight
  3. thermosets: (rigit and strong not used in packaing very often) and thermoplastics (soften upon exposure to heat and return to their original condition at room temperature)

    Disadvantage
  4. permeability to light, gases, vapors, and low molecular weight molecules.
  5. health concerns regarding residual monomer and components in plastics, including stabilizers, plasticizers

Paper and paperboard

    Advantages
  1. Lightweight
  2. Recyclable
  3. paper can be laminated with polyethylene to make it heat sealable and to improve gas and moisture barrier properties.
  4. Laminated paper is used to package dried products such as soups, herbs, and spices.
  5. Disadvantages
  6. poor barrier properties and is not heat sealable
