[5.05] Official Sony content displayed in User Guide when using DNS-hack? #183

[X] By putting an X in this box I agree I have read the above. If my issue is in regards something listed above (or I did not check this box) I agree to have my issue closed without comment. (LEAVE THIS LINE IN YOUR ISSUE)

So I had upgraded to 5.05(via DNS/never writing changes permanently in the console sadly) sometimes last year, played with it a couple of hours over the course of 2-3 months, everything always worked out fine via DNS. Then I moved away from it and didn't touched it for a couple of months.

Just yesterday, I resumed my activities and everything ran well as usual (using the same DNS method) But when I installed HEN, I had SEVERAL out of memory errors, I also had a javascript error and then eventually my PS4 rebooted alone and then I was able to re-apply all soft patching as I had done previously. Everything again worked well for the whole session.

This morning, I wanted to resume my activities and finally commit those changes permanently in my console (always using the same exact DNS method that is so well documented) however when going under "User's Guide" I am now being prompted by the official sony content??

Perhaps more disturbing is the fact that after powering on my console this morning it claimed that there was an error installing 6.20 yet "auto-update" has never been re-enabled since I got it to 5.05. After reconfirming, this auto-update option is still disabled as of today.

After going through the open issues I was unable to find one that matched 100% with my problem hence am now posting this. Did sony found a way to remotely brick or is it just me?

PS: I have also tried switching to the LAN method but this gives the same exact problem.

Unneeded info, nothing weird here.

Try running this command on your computer (Using the same network)

Windows: nslookup manuals.playstation.net 165.227.83.145

Linux (Maybe OSX): dig manuals.playstation.net @165.227.83.145 +short

If the commands do not reply with the DNS's IP your ISP is hijacking your DNS requests and you'll have to run locally to avoid it.

PS: I have also tried switching to the LAN method but this gives the same exact problem.

I do not believe this part as no requests would even make it to your ISP or WAN.
