i upgrade metasploit to latest revision 11/4/2011

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Make sure you're running Metasploit as root or Administrator. I do not believe 
the inability of nmap to open a device is an Armitage issue per se, I believe 
this is an issue with either permissions or your configuration of nmap.
