Linker Script is used for GNU linker, see the doc LD.
Example file linker.ld comes from command ld --verbose, which is the default linker script for generic compiling and linking.
I tried to figure out how the rh_Scale_Factor is working but failed, so its value for linker script may need further modification.

Nicely done; I especially appreciate the inclusion of a test. The scale factor can be ignored, it is a low-value feature.
