There are 3 main operation going on in the side chain:

The deposit operation where money is deposited to the side chain (this operation is slow).
The payment operation where money is transferred from one side chain account to another side chain account (this operation is fast)
The withdrawal operation where money is transferred from the side_chain back to the main chain (this operation is slow).

All operations have fees associated to them. Right now the code uses Ethereum as main chain, but other blockchains could be used.
