Graphic issues on dark themes under Linux

Using a dark theme under GNOME, there are two problems:
- the status bar icon has no transparency effect and is drawn with a grey 
background instead of the system one;
- items and lines are selected in white instead of the system dark color, 
resulting in a "white text over white background" effect.

Still present in the Maverick with the icon background. Can this be fixed ASAP.

I tried all standard Ubuntu 9 themes and they works fine.
What the exact theme name? Where I can download it?

The name is TechniX, it's a standard GTK2 theme, you can find it here:

In my Linux box I also use Compiz/Emerald, etc., but I think the problem is 
related only to the GTK theme.
