Please describe the bug

Pull down the main branch run "npm run test"

Expamine result for the test called "handles the required state being set"

Reproducing the error

This issue is reproducible on the Auro docsite - This issue cannot be reproduced on the Auro docsite

Expected behavior

Test should pass

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Additional context

This test appears to have broken during the Node 18+ update.

This is no longer an issue after the recent changes to the repo. I have verified that the test has been passing for some time and this ticket was just never resolved.
