[New Feature]: Enhancements for Photographers and Machinima #23

Environment

Alchemy Beta 7.1.9.2492 (64bit)

Description

Many enjoy both photography and machinima in Second Life. With the introduction of PBR there has been a pull back in features from other third party viewers that have left many who enjoy doing this left lacking the tools they have been accustom to using. From hearing from most of my blogger/photography/machinima friends, these features are very much missed. Lightbox with colorgrading is nice, and a huge step forward for Alchemy but the features listed below are direly needed for the communities that love showing off what can be done in Second Life.

I know it potentially might be a lot of work, but some of the features I and many others in the photography and machinima scene in Second Life that I have talked with really enjoyed and came to rely on a lot of the features I list below.

We currently already have color correction in the form of Lightbox's Colorgrading via LUTs and Tonemapper. ACES has no options to work with but the other tonemappers do. AlchemyTest_2024-06-19_12-17-59

LUT is nice and I was aware of that in Lightbox. I think it is great.

Also have been using Tonemapper with the various other tonemappers. The options available now do certainly help out. Perhaps with the example I was giving it was the ability to use what looks like what options are available in the "Uncharted" tonemapper with those RGB sliders shown above for the color correction section simultaneously in the post that made it feel very different with the example I was giving.

Right now it is a choice between AMD LPM or Uncharted but options in both cannot be used at the same time to achieve similar results.

While this is a bit of an extreme example, I miss being able to make things look like this live in world with just graphics settings and a sky setting. image
