Environment

Alchemy Beta 7.1.9.2492, running on Debian 12, kernel 6.1.0-21, Mesa 24.1.1, KDE Plasma 5.27.5. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700. GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT.

Description

On the latest Beta update, mirrors have been causing notable visual glitches on water bodies on the Linux build. Disabling them apparently solves the issue, as shown on the following screenshots. Issue does not happen on Windows 10 (22H2, Radeon driver v24.5.1).

Reproduction steps

  1. Enable mirrors in advanced graphics settings. Expected: Normal functionality. Actual: Visual glitches on SL water bodies, whenever the feature is enabled.

This is also been reported on Firestorm on Linux as well. https://jira.firestormviewer.org/browse/FIRE-34051?jql=text%20~%20mirror%20ORDER%20BY%20created%20DESC

Whoops, fat-fingered on the close button. Noob user moment! Anyways, I don't have that particular issue on Firestorm, interesting!

This is a semi-known issue that does not impact Nvidia graphics users on Linux. Users using Mesa seem to be the only ones impacted, so AMD and Intel.
