Volatile "Speed step" settings / customizable interface

Hi,

I just switched from VLC, and I like everything MPC-BE offers. However, it fell short in 2 areas:

1- "Speed step" settings automatically reset upon opening a new video, whereas in VLC, it can be set globally to start a video with the speed step applied. [Example: I want to start every video at 20% speed automatically without having to do it each time manually]

2- The interface: This one offers some customizations and presets, but in VLC, you can make it look the way you want. For example, I couldn't merge the "Seek bar" and the "Status bar" to save space, given that the latter only has the status and the time in each corner, while the middle is empty. This unnecessarily results in 2 rows instead of 1.

I hope to see these taken care of in a future release.

1. View > Options > Playback > Do not reset speed for session
2. If you like VLC, then use it. MPC-BE uses old technologies for the interface and does not support skins.

1. Ticking this option or not makes no difference. In other words, it doesn't work.
2. No one mentioned "skins", I'm talking about the OG interface in both. Also, that's a toxic attitude if you care about improving this app.

The second point is a suggestion for future builds, whereas the first is a problem to fix if that's what the option is supposed to do.

1. This works if you do not close the player.
2. Telling developers what to do and ignoring the answers seems more impolite to me.

There is no easy way to change the interface in MPC-BE. MPC stands for Media Player Classic.
