Mr @Alex313031, oops I'm surprised lol, this site says our beloved Thorium does not activate mpeg dash :
Streaming Adaptive bit rate Dynamic Adaptive Streaming / MPEG-DASH No ✘ HTTP Live Streaming / HLS No ✘
so Thorium does not activate mpeg dash by default ? how enable dash in Thorium please ?
Hello Mr @Alex313031 , how are you ? we hope you are fine :)
Our beloved Thorium browser officially becomes the best web browser in the world and my tests prove and confirm it because Thorium manages to solve one of the biggest problems in the world, that of video playback jerks and freezes due to weak connection ! 🥇
I explain the sensational discovery that I discovered and confirmed by my tests :
Hello, for example this video,
https://livetv787.me/frx/showvideo/1322852_real_madrid_real_betis/
the video playback jerks freeze a lot because members of my family are connected, and I find alhamdoulilAllah a rare solution to have smooth playback even with a very weak internet connection = use of Thorium browser which activates the mpeg dash flag ! we can make the comparison and check in the task manager in the network part, the video continues to load the network buffer increases even when the video is paused which is not the case in web browsers which have not activated the mpeg dash secret flag , we hope please our beloved Mercury browser will be able to integrate mpeg dash or offer us a functionality to manually enable this important fanstatic mpeg dash flag; thank you :)
Experimental MPEG-DASH support : https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium?tab=readme-ov-file#features--differences-between-chromium-and-thorium--
MPEG-DASH > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_Adaptive_Streaming_over_HTTP
Implemented with the args.gn flags "enable_hls_sample_aes = true" and "enable_mse_mpeg2ts_stream_parser = true"
edit :
"Firefox 21 includes an implementation of DASH for HTML5 WebM video which is turned off by default. It can be enabled via "about:config" and the "media.dash.enabled" preference. Firefox 23 removed support for DASH for HTML5 WebM video"
