@leomc1118 What platform are you using?
M1 Mac
This is because the user profile directory was renamed to thorium instead of chromium
@leomc1118 You can read https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/HEAD/docs/user_data_dir.md#Mac-OS-X and move the dir or rename it to thorium instead of chromium. Make sure that you don't just copy one dir over the other. You should replace it. I.E. Delete thorium, and then rename the chromium dir to thorium. I migrated the install location and user profile dir, starting with linux, then windows, and finally mac. I posted notices for the linux and windows releases, but didn't for Mac. I should have. Sorry for confusion or frustration this caused. Thanks for using Thorium! Always feel free to file bugs or suggestions. You can file issues or start a new thread in the discussions. Keep in mind that I am a one person developer, with @gz83 and @midzer helping to build for Windows and MacOS respectively. Midzer also helped bringing the new site https://thorium.rocks/ to fruition. Anyway what I mean is that I may not be able to satisfy all requests. For example one guy wanted me to implement unrestricted resizing of any video in Thorium, and I simply don't know how to do that. But still any suggestions are welcome, and I will try to make them a reality.
Can you use Homebrew to update this?
brew install bingokingo/bingokingo/alex-chromium
brew upgrade bingokingo/bingokingo/alex-chromium
Hello I barely have half a brain cell when it comes to non-mainstream browsers. Last time I updated my thorium by replacing my existing thorium by installing the latest version one and replacing the existing, which causes me to lose settings and extensions, so I was wondering what would be the best way to update?
