to download the installer to c:\windows\temp. He told me this many months ago, does it matter? Should i only install it to that folder? -Thanks
@Intellectual234
Hello, double-click to run the mini_installer to install Thorium on the computer. In addition, what is the date of the mini_installer displayed on your side? Can you take a screenshot?
I dont understand what u mean or r asking. I just downloaded it today, what date do u want to see?

@Intellectual234
Please don't rush to close this issue, what I want to know is the date displayed under general in the properties of the mini_installer file
@Intellectual234
After I download mini_installer, the date displayed is the time when the download is completed. In addition, some downloading software will modify the time stamp of the file, what software are you using to download the file?
I dont understand why u are asking me these questions? with all respect. I downloaded the installer today. Please explain.

I don't mean to offend you in any way. Timestamp changes can cause the problem you're having, some download tools (eg IDM) have a setting related to timestamps, so I'm asking you the previous question.
Yes, I am using IDM, please explain how IDM can cause problems, and what problems do u mean?
c:\windows\temp.
@Intellectual234
IDM has the following settings related to time (as far as I know)
Options - Save to - Set file creation date as provided by the server
Options - Downloads - Ignore file modification time changes when resuming a download
The above two options are not checked on my side.
In addition, I would like to ask, have you tried to download and save other files under the c:\windows\temp directory, do other files also have this problem?
"do other files also have this problem?" --Have what problem?
Also, please explain why it matters what my thorium installers creation file date says?

"do other files also have this problem?" -I am referring here to the time of the file.
I saw that the issue you initiated mentioned a problem related to file time (He told me this many months ago), so I raised the previous problem and helped you to troubleshoot.
Am I misunderstanding your question? If I'm mistaken, please point it out.
"the time of the file." --Yes, and how is that a problem? it has installed fine today. I was just wondering why Alex313031 told me to install the mini installer in the c:\windows\temp folder? thanks for all your help tho, regardess. :)

@Intellectual234
Where did Alex tell you to install the mini_installer to the c:\windows\temp directory?
Alex told me in december of 2022. See screenshot below.

Since I can't get more context of the conversation, I can't give more reply for the time being, I will inform @Alex313031 about this issue.
@Intellectual234 I was saying that the chrome auto updater just downloads the mini_installer to that dir and then executes it. For Chromium/Thorium builds, all you gotta do is double click it.
If you are worried about timestamps or a downloader messing with the file, simply download the latest one from here with an existing browser instance.
@Intellectual234 David is this you. lol
