M111.0.5563.111 doesn't include Google Services (Google Translate, Google LogIn, Google Sync, etc). I had to roll back to a previous working release: https://github.com/Alex313031/Thorium-Win/releases/tag/M110.0.5481.178

@PR0LAPSE

Local testing did not reproduce the problem you encountered, are you using the portable version or the mini_installer version?

PR0LAPSE commented 1 year ago

@gz83 I tried the portable version (as usual) : Thorium_111.0.5563.111.zip

@PR0LAPSE

Please try to refer to this method for troubleshooting

@gz83 The path of user data folder inside the THORIUM.BAT file has not been changed and no files were modified at all. This's what the settings/people page looks like with an empty user data folder: image And if I use my current user folder from M110.0.5481.178 - browser becomes "Ungoogled" too: image

@PR0LAPSE

Close the browser completely, then empty the USER_DATA folder (if you have important data, please backup it first) and run THORIUM.BAT again to see if you can use sync and upload screenshots again

PR0LAPSE commented 1 year ago

@gz83 The first screenshot shows this. In the first screenshot, Thorium was started as is immediately after unpacking from the archive.

gz83 commented 1 year ago

@PR0LAPSE

The user data you are using is suspected to have problems, my side is like this, also the portable version, I can use the synchronization normally

By the way, please create a new set of user data in the upper right corner of the main screen at the avatar, and then check again to see if you can use the sync.

PR0LAPSE commented 1 year ago

@gz83 No, the problem is not in USER_DATA directory! The first screenshot is a clean run, as I told you. To test it, I downloaded the Thorium archive, unzipped it, and ran THORIUM.BAT. That's all. I did not change or edit anything, I did not change the user data folder (it is empty). This problem occurs both on the main PC and on the laptop. With the previous version of Thorium there are no such problems. The problem is not even that M111.0.5563.111 does not work with the user data folder of M110.0.5481.178, but that it simply has Google services disabled by default. And judging by the "issues" - I'm not the only one having trouble. The only working version at the moment is M110.0.5481.178.

Thank you for trying to help. Unfortunately, creating new user profiles in the browser does not solve the problem.

@PR0LAPSE

The thorium development team is preparing to update the repo to version M112, and we will investigate this issue during the update process.

Also, are the problems you are experiencing similar to the ones this person is experiencing?

https://github.com/Alex313031/Thorium-Win/issues/43

PR0LAPSE commented 1 year ago

@gz83 Yes, the issues are similar. There also seem to be two people reporting this. Maybe it's because we're using the portable version? Anyway, thanks for the Thorium and your support. Looking forward to the new release.

gz83 commented 1 year ago

@PR0LAPSE

The problem may not be related to portable edition and needs further investigation.

Please stay tuned to #43 for more progress, this issue will be closed later because it is a similar issue.
