Cloudflare blocking access to sites using Thorium #538

I am using Ubuntu 22.04 Thorium Version 119.0.6045.214 (Official Build) stable, built on Linux (64-bit)

I am having a challenge with Cloudflare blocking access to a site. It is stating:

Your browser is out of date! Update your browser to view this website correctly

This may be a continuation of the bug listed here but my reading of that indicated to me it was resolved.

I tried a pseudo-solution of a user agent switcher but setting any of those to Firefox or Chrome did not resolve the issue.

Hi @dwlamb

Try again with latest Thorium M120.

When will 120 for SSE3 for Linux be available?

I've only had success with SSE3 for Linux versions. I tried 120 and it wouldn't open. Starting it from the command-line:

$ thorium-browser
Illegal instruction (core dumped)

It's there via https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium/releases/tag/M120.0.6099.235

https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium/releases/download/M120.0.6099.235/thorium-browser_120.0.6099.235_SSE3.deb for example. I use it myself :)

I tried visiting the same site with Version 120.0.6099.235 (Official Build) stable, built on Linux (64-bit). Still blocked by Cloudflare stating the browser is out of date

midzer commented 8 months ago

If a site blocks an ~ one month old browser, it's IMO not an issue of the browser itself.

I experienced the same even when logging into cloudflare dashboard (user account).

What I tried next worked for me:

That did the job for me for chatgpt, whereas another page would still say "unsupported browser" And again turning ublock off also solved that one and after initial page load everything is smooth sailing
