That is occuring when you try to install your own crx files (I have, like, 30 of them). Pls disable this.

@Alex313031

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

Was testing it on Tampermonkey legacy self signed. https://disk.yandex.ru/d/njBk7J2wsD_vXA

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

The browser that I used before (360 security 15) didn't have this issue.

gz83 commented 1 month ago

Please try to download the crx file using another browser and then install it in Thorium's developer mode

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

@gz83 it is still blocked. https://www.tampermonkey.net/faq.php?locale=en#Q408

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

Not any of those files is working.

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

(if we talk about CRX, not the store)

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

The browser needs to eat all of those crx extensions, especially when MV2 support will be finally ended. Its not about security, its about Google desire to advertise their own store.

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

"Thorium recommends installing extensions from Chrome webstore" - ha, I believe you all wanted it to be written exactly like that, lol.

gz83 commented 1 month ago

Thorium plans to keep MV2 support, and Google is not actually moving forward with deprecating MV2, so you can still install the tampermonkey extension through the web store.

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

so you can still install the tampermonkey extension through the web store.

Of course I can but I have my archive with all of my extensions to not search them manually everytime and one of them is Tampermonkey mv2 dated by june of 2024 and my other browser doesn't have any problems with installing extensions via crx so its not rational to keep any of the Google protections they established only to monopolise their store that now deprecates MV2. You were warned to fix this before all MV2 will be deleted from Chrome store. image

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

Can't see any good reason to not fix this unless you don't understand how. Thats just a basic convenience for the user which Chrome doesn't have because they're Chrome, and that's a pretty universal, easy detectable problem.

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

Can't install obscure extensions from Github, for example https://github.com/zero-peak/ZeroOmega/releases/tag/3.3.14

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

@gz83 @Alex313031 basically any crx isn't working as intended anymore.

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

It is actual for Thorium 124 and (I believe) above.

gz83 commented 1 month ago

Please try to turn off safe browsing and see the actual effect

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago

@gz83 nah bro it doesn't help at all 100% image

Verity-Freedom commented 1 month ago
