Google Messenger does not open from lockscreen #832

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. make google messenger as default sms
2. receive new text message
3. touch SMS on dashclock lockscreen 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected: open text from default sms app. instead: it opens text in phone 
native sms app which is not set as default sms app.

What version of the product are you using?
1.6

Which device and Android version are you experiencing this issue on?
at&t lg g3 kitkat 4.4.2

Are you using a custom launcher or ROM? If so, which one? Note that custom
launchers and ROMs are not supported.
Yes, Google Now launcher

Please provide any additional information below.
email from lockscreen works, so i would assume having google now launcher does 
not matter..?
