I had an interesting idea thinking about the asymmetry problem with stocktwits data. Granted I also made a cup of coffee without putting a cup underneath while having it.
But maybe what we should model is an arbitrary "note" stream on a ticker. We could let users view recent entries in the note stream on the ticker page, and also allow them to add notes (public only until we actually add users). So our twitter / stocktwits checks could be modeled as notes. From there we could also add image notes for saving annotated charts etc...
