Collar Disappeared

I put the collar onto a tamed dog and it just disappeared? Like its not in my inventory, i cant remove anything off the dog and its literally no where to be seen.

I've noticed this too, but don't worry, the dog equipped the collar.

There doesn't seem to be a confirmed way to remove them from pets, aside from giving them another collar, in which they'll discard the one they were wearing previously.
