{SUGGESTION} Couple of new dragon ideas, 4 new dragons #1007

First of all, I love what you guys have done. Transformed Minecraft into something even more exiting. I'll try to make these suggestions as readable as I can, so you can read it with ease. My inspiration for this was: How to tame a dragon, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, Owls and the Creeping Angels.

~~ Dragon Ideas: Thorned Serpent Night/Dark Dragon Mist Dragon Mimica

I was thinking different types of these dragons: Thorned Serpent ~ Fire breathing and no fire breathing Night/Dark Dragon ~ Shoots Dark or Night Balls, and an blue and red electricity type Mist Dragon ~ Electricity Balls because of the friction in the mist, it to have electric type attacks, and fire Mimica ~ is a dragon that mimics its surroundings not to get caught, like it can transform into a tree, or different types of backgrounds

Suggestion 1 - Thorned Serpent

The Dragon: So my main idea about this was the most basic but also the most powerful dragon. A dragon that has a stinger in the back of his tail, and has thorn like scales covering his body but for simplicity's sake I'm just gonna call the scales. The stinger when still young is made out of his bone, but when the stinger falls off, because of his age. He'll try to replace it with something harder. So eventually depending on its growth stage, it'll have a obsidian stinger in the end, and perhaps even a bedrock stinger, but it would be the rarest thing there is. His claws are much like the claws of a mole, which he uses to dig his den/pit, and underground tunnels. I was thinking the body to be scaled with thorny scales that are made of his own bones bones. The thorns facing towards his back. So depending on its growth stage, it can be only hit or killed from the back (stage 4+), or its sides and back (stage 1-3). When young on the other hand, its scales grow from the skin. The scales are replaced often when young and can lead a trail to where his den is. You can pick up the thorns which he shed, and use it to create even stronger armor than already is available. But beware the scales he left behind are not as impenetrable as his scales now...

I was thinking it to have big legs and a serpent like body, and wings that can retract onto his arms.

The Dragon's den: It has his own biome, of which is mostly tunnels underground, stretching from the outside of the border to his pit under a big mountain. The landscape on the surface looks like some form of a desolated land or island, it is filled with skeletons and lava pits and scorched trees. Dragons are afraid to enter the biome. The riches that lay inside his pit are made up of the rarest items in the game, and a lot of dragon scales and bones. Never the flesh for that is his food.

Attacks and Behavior: It is an ambush predator, he uses his tunnels to catch pray. Much like a spider does in a web. But how he catches his pray is astonishing. He uses his scales to make a loud clicking sounds that hypnotizes his pray and then catches it, to eat it brutally afterwards. His pray are dragons and sometimes villagers. He is almost always in a slumber. Sleeping till he gets hungry, but that could take ages.

His attacks are a range of things, clawing, sting, tail wipe, bite, and grapple Clawing does a decent amount of damage, and it knocks you whichever side he swipes, same with tail wipe. Sting knock you back and does an insane amount of damage and damages your armor heavily. Luckily you can dodge this one pretty easily. Tail wipe doesn't do a lot of damage, it just pushes you to whichever side he swipes. He does knock you in a desired spot, be it a lava pit or just away from him. Bite, while is reaches out to bite you, you can easily shoot an arrow in his mouth and set his inside on fire. But when he bites you your a goner unless you have armor made out of his own scales, or obsidian armor if that is going to get added. Grapple, when trying to attack the Thorned Serpent with another dragon, it'll fly to that other dragon and grab it and sting it, it only stings it once and then lets go, in order to keep the game balanced.

How to Tame or Kill: To kill it is to attack it from the back, and pierce its skin with an obsidian arrow. You can also cause him damage with fire breath, but only if you attack from the back, and ice will do the same. and you can damage (even brake pieces of) his thorns by heating him from the back and cooling him afterwards also from the back. Which makes him vulnerable to side attacks. But once attacked he'll face towards you no matter what.

You can only tame him by giving him a harder stinger. And only when he hasn't been attacked.

So I was thinking for this to be a bedrock stinger. And to have it spawned in a chest of the Automaton Creator, Secret Chamber, or somewhere secretive inside the Automaton Creator his lab.

Suggestion 2 ~ Night/Dark Dragon

Most people I know would think of Toothless to be awesome. I also think that, but he's a little too OP. So hereby a downgraded version.

Night Dragon:

Fades exactly into the night sky, the only way of seeing it is to have 'stars on' in your settings. Its nest fades exactly to the color of the sky, so there is no real way of telling where that is. The only clue there is, is when a village, or ice village is reinforced. It hunts for one reason there during the night. Sugar. It loves Sugar. It hunts for fish in the oceans during the last couple hours of night it has. And then returns back to its nest, at this time it will be more easy to spot and locate the nest. I was thinking for this dragon to be invisible when its at the darkest our and it hunts for cake but loses the invisibility when its getting twilight again. It looks like a see through black cat with wings and a tail at night and during the day it's not see through anymore, that would be awesome and a bit more original than lets say Toothless itself. Its flying is extremely silent when flying normally, but when sprinting it makes a little sound not too loud, but it would be awesome to make it so that has gliding flying mechanics just like flying the Elytra. And that the gliding can be exceptionally faster than the gliding of the Elytra.

This dragon is most useful for travelling fast.

Behavior: Will sneak through the night to eat cake. It only attacks during hunting and to defend itself or its nest. When hunting fish in the night you can hear it use its blast attack following a dive in the ocean to catch its pray. Sleeps during the day, and only is active during the night, but this regime can alter when domesticated. And sleeps whenever you don't need him/her. Its ability to turn invisible will remain, and when it sheds its scales you can have that ability too. It'll not be detected when in the night. It naturally adapts to the color of the night. And when it's hurt badly it'll sleep and make a purr sounds which makes him heal overnight.

Attacks: Just a couple like, Blast, Bite, Grab. Blast ~ Shoots a blast like Darkness that deals a bit of damage, enough to get one shotted without any armor. Bite ~ deals a little damage, but it does render your attack useless when he is biting you. And throws you away after a couple of seconds Grab, you can grab someone but slows you down depending on its size.

How to tame it: Is to sneak into its nest while it's sleeping and feed it LOTS of sugar!

Suggestion 3 ~ Mist Dragon

There is not much mysticism inside Minecraft, so that's the reason for the Mist Dragon and Night Dragon.

The Dragon and its biome: Its a grey dragon, sometimes lighter sometimes darker, depending on the biome, it has its own biome, just a regular forest but just with a lot of mist and a couple of water pits much like a swamp. It always stays out of sight and attacks with lightning blasts from afar. For the mist I was thinking that the grid that fills the air to be a different color that stacks up and makes it dark almost black even. Inside the biome there's a constant thunderstorm raging. And it lives inside a hollow mountain on the top, which is easier to find because all of the lightning strikes, strike at the top of the mountain. So you can locate where that through hearing where the sound came from. The treasure that awaits inside the mountain is made up of a mix of fire dragon loot and ice dragon loot.

Attacks: Lightning ray, Lighting Blasts, Shock wave. It would be cool if there were two types, one with lighting rays the other with blasts. Its pretty self explanatory.

[THIS HAS BEEN ADDED LATER]

How to tame it, or kill it: In order to get close to the dragon. You'll need to set up a grid of pillars made of iron blocks or iron ores within a 4 block radius, but not too close to each other otherwise they'll jump from pillar to pillar and spark you. The electric attacks dissipate into the ground when the dragon attacks in or close to the grid. When you sneak up on him (presuming you're close enough). You can either attack it and engage in battle or place a bucket of water next to and get it to stand down and feed it a rare fish (alive), which you'll have to add to the body of water you just placed. But always sneak when taming this dragon for it's easily scared. If you killed it however its heart can generate an enormous amount of electricity which can be turned into a weapon or fire up any forge.

Suggestion 4 ~ The Mimica

It looks like a tree but its not. It hides in a forest but when it sees its pray (you and other thing, I don't really have the inspiration right now) it'll shift in and out of its shape to follow you and attack you in your sleep. Deeply annoying and creepy to say the least. It doesn't have any long range attacks so it just sneaks up on you and attacks you while your not looking.

Anyways thanks for making this mod, and for making it great!

Cheers, Tim

Great suggestion but they said that they weren't gonna add more dragons in a while back after the lightning dragon. maybe i people get the attention of the devs and they like it they might do it

Ah that's too bad, but I guess they have their reasons. Anyway, it's still a great mod. If this does get the attention of the devs and they happen to like it, that would be awesome!!
