I'm having the same issue as this other person but on version 1.20.1-8.1.2 https://github.com/AlexModGuy/Rats/issues/697 I have not tested with rice but it does seem to be the case for tomatoes.

I can confirm that the tomatoes in the version have a problem with the seeds that are not fully grown being harvested directly

Can confirm as well. Playing Uncharted Expeditions.
