For the BMS to charge lithium cells safely, software should developed to monitor and control charging current and voltage over time.

Requirements

Charging of the battery cell should be controlled by the MCU from start to finish.
The MCU should monitor current and voltage while charging. The values should be visible or printed in realtime when debugging.
The charging circuit may get desired voltage from a bench power supply for now.
No communication with charger is required.
